Imagine that there is a girl. A girl, pretty and confident, with an aura like the setting sun over the hills of California. She wears ripped shorts and cowboy boots, wears her hair casually shaggy, climbs on the bonnet of a car, hops on it and starts singing "Party in the USA" with a power she coaxes from her vocal cords that you'd think she wanted her song to permeate every living room from the East to the West Coast, the inhabitants turning off their radios and dancing along to her song instead.
This girl really exists: her name is Miley Cyrus.
The scene described is not taken from a storybook, but describes her music video for "Party in the USA!"
It seems that little Miley, born in 1992, is destined to become a big player in America's pop-country music scene. Her father is the country musician Billy Ray Cyrus, her mother the film producer Letitia Jean "Tish" Cyrus - they gave her the name Destiny Hope Cyrus.
Destinty = the predestined, Hope = the hopeful!
The combination of both names seems to have brought her a lot of luck, because even as a toddler Miley smiles a lot, and so her pet name "Smiley" quickly becomes "Miley".
Miley has her own character, her own goals and her own style with which she moves through life and showbizz: She always gives the impression of being up to every challenge and stage - and what other people think of her doesn't seem to mean a thing to her.
In short: The former Disney star "Hannah Montana" has become an artist to be taken seriously, who sings evergreens, forgotten songs and her own compositions with her charismatic, slightly smoky voice with so much precision and emphasis that one could think the lines were just waiting to be discovered and sung by Miley.
Strong women shaped Miley's path: her godmother, the brilliant singer-songwriter Dolly Parton, also advised her career-wise. Here and there there was speculation about her relationship with her father, who is also her manager: too much ambition, too much pressure of expectations projected onto the talented Miley?
She had her rebellious phases, shows a lot to a lot of skin, there was speculation about smoking pot and why she traded in her long mane for a blonde-dyed short-haired pixie was not understood by everyone.
In 2020, her studio album Plastic Hearts was released and she covered many rock classics by artists such as The Cranberries, Blondie or Stevie Nicks.
Cyrus combines pop with tradition, traditional country with trash, trash with heart and a socio-political message.
In 2008, Miley Cyrus founded the charity organisation The Pappy Cyrus Family Foundation in honour of her late grandfather Ron Cyrus, which cares for socially disadvantaged US families.
Cyrus has been vegan since 2014 and promotes this lifestyle - she was voted "Sexiest Vegetarian" by PETA.
Style PASS wishes Smiley Miley more good songs and one thing above all: Stay the way you are!
